Meet Vic & Ulrika

Victoria Vanstone and Ulrika Jonsson came to sobriety from very different places, but they have one very important thing in common, neither is interested in pretending life is more polished than it really is.

Vic is an author of two memoirs, podcaster, mum of three and all round doer who got sober in 2018 before creating the award winning Sober Awkward podcast, now with more than 8 million downloads worldwide. Ulrika is a broadcaster, writer, presenter and mum of four who has spent decades in British television and media, while somehow parenting, working and generally getting the hell on with it.

Vic was the big social binge drinker, while Ulrika’s drinking increasingly happened at home. Different habits, same destination. When Ulrika appeared as a guest on Sober Awkward, they clicked immediately. So when Vic needed a new co host, she took a chance and asked Ulrika, fully expecting her to say no.

She said yes.

Together, they talk honestly about sobriety, motherhood, ageing, relationships, anxiety, shame, identity and the general chaos of being a woman. No perfect sober gurus, no pretending they have all the answers, just two funny, flawed women telling it like it is, warts and all.
